- August 2009: Fireball Roller Coaster opens to the
public. After a flawless soft opening last month, the Fireball's grand
opening is even better! Happy Valley Shanghai opened with a huge barrage of
fireworks and dozens of dignitaries this week. According to the park, the
Fireball, China's first and only wood roller coaster, is by far the most
popular attraction in the park. See a review at
Theme Park Review . The ride was designed by The Gravity Group, built by
Martin & Vleminckx Rides, controls and power by American Amusement Rides
LLC, brakes by Velocity Magnetics, trains by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters,
and lift motor/chain by Costasur.
